March Madness – And it ain’t about basketball

Short post here tonight.

I have an idea for March.  I want to blog something every day of the month.  Even if it’s just a few sentences or a couple of paragraphs.  I want to see if I can do it.

Since I don’t have an idea for a writing topic this evening, I thought I would get the month started by posting this idea.

I’m not sure what route I should take.  There’s this website called oneword.com and they provide one word per day on the website and then give you 60 seconds to freewrite about that particular word.  It’s kind of cool.  But one minute is never enough for me.  That one minute is usually what I need to get the first few words in the right order.  So, I thought I would use the word, but give myself more time – 5 minutes, 10 minutes, until I feel like stopping – and post those on a daily basis.  See if they spark any kind of discussion.  (Or, more likely, just give me the satisfaction of writing something every day – since so few people actually read this.)

There’s another thought that I could simply write about one interesting event, conversation, etc. that took place that day.  Though, what I find interesting will make others faint, sometimes.

I thought it would be cool to have a guest blogger every day too…but there’s no time to plan for something like that.  Perhaps in April or May I’ll give that a try.  Have a theme and then invite some of the cool people I know to contribute.

Anyway, here’s my first post for March.  Let’s see if I can actually do this for 31 days.
