People who know me well probably think that I should stay committed. In a nice facility with padded walls and tight, white jackets. But, really, I’m probably one of the more sane people I know. It’s a scary thought, really.
But, in this case, staying committed refers to National Blog Posting Month. Not including this post, I have just two more remaining for the month of November. As you’ve likely deduced from recent (and perhaps not-so-recent) posts, I’m losing some fizzle. I’m getting my blog posts published really late in the day, right at the “deadline.” This is mostly because I’m struggling for things to write about.
I haven’t finished any books – I’ve started a number of them, but I just haven’t been able to finish. It’s not because they are bad books. I just haven’t been motivated enough to get all the way to the end.
I haven’t seen many movies. I saw The Girl on the Train, but didn’t write a review. It’s one of those movies that needs 2 or 3 viewings before I can really wrap my brain around it. I’ve wanted to see a number of others, but the energy to get out of the house and go to the theatre has been lacking.
I’ve already written some posts post-election. They were cathartic. And I’ll likely write more in the future. But I’ve spent more time making calls to my senators and representatives than talking/writing about it.
I finally took the time away from my binge-watching sessions of Gilmore Girls to throw the leftover Thanksgiving turkey into the slow cooker to make stew. I had some for dinner – it’s tasty.
So, yeah, finding things to write about for NaBloPoMo is tough. Just two more left. I can do it.
I hope.
How about a blog on, what I think would happen if I broke my commitment?
