NaBloPoMo (11/2015) – Day 17: Haiku

I had to drive to my cousin’s house this evening to pick up my cats. It’s about a 45 minute drive each way. So, there was a lot of time to think. I actually do some of my best thinking when I’m driving.

For some strange reason, everything I thought about was in Haiku form. I don’t know why. Haiku is not my “go to” method for…anything, really. But, there they were. Those 5-7-5 thoughts.  So, I thought I would write them down here. After all, I was actually thinking about what to write for my blog this evening.

Here they are. Don’t judge.

November half over
And there is snow on the way
Can it be April?

Much hatred and fear
When will we open our eyes?
Peace and love must win

Heater not working
But the cats will keep me warm
Furbabies are great

Sandra, you are missed
But your spirit will live on
I love you, my friend

Thanksgiving is near
There’s so much shopping to do
Then cooking, cooking

Don’t look at my skin
My body tells you nothing
Know me by my heart
