It’s the Semi-Finals! Will it remain close?

We’ve made it to the Semi-Finals, boys and girls!  There are 4 couples left in a competition that is closer than it’s ever been before.  At this point, anything can happen!

Let’s see what happens tonight.

I’d like to interject here with some information:  I thought the show was starting at 7:30pm rather than 7:00pm since it was only a 90 minute show.  I was incorrect.  So I missed the first 25 minutes and had to go back with the DVR viewing.  This blog happened during the DVR viewing.

The 4 couples come on to the stage looking excited and ready to go.  Katherine and Mark stand out with their flash of color and Donald and Peta look stunning in white.  Maria and Derek and William and Cheryl are looking sleek and sexy in black.

Wasting no time…right into the first dance.

William/Cheryl dancing the Tango.

• The pressure is on now.  William is feeling the frustration in rehearsals.  But he usually comes through in the dance.
• A Tango to “Sweet Dreams are Made of This” – great music.
• The dance is starting out strong.  William is a formidable presence on the dance floor, that’s for sure.
• I’m not sure how I feel about Cheryl’s pants/skirt thing.
• Overall, that was a nice dance.  Strong, passionate.   What will the judges say?
• Len:  “I’ve not been this excited since me mum put me in long trousers.”
• Bruno:  “William – the master of the house!”  “No doubt who was on top.”
• Carrie Ann:  She calls him out on some over-rotation, but overall likes it.
• 9 from Carrie Ann; 9 from Len; 10 from Bruno (hormones)

• The fact that Katherine just pulled down Mark’s pants makes me like her more.
• Ohhhh Katherine in a cage!  Sexy.
• Great work so far.  oops…she had a baby stumble.  We’ll see if the judges catch it.
• She performing the heck out of it, that’s for sure.  Really animated and looks like she’s having great fun.
• That dress is a great style on her.  Just sayin’.
• Definitely a quick quickstep.
• Bruno:  “Outstanding!”  “Picture perfect rendition.”
• Carrie Ann:  “In order to make it to the finals, you need to bring your A game.  You didn’t do that.  You brought your A+ game!”
• Len:  “I knew you could sing, but you can dance!”  He noticed the little bauble.  “Overall, what a fabulous number.”
• 10 from Carrie Ann; 9 from Len; 10 from Bruno

Donald/Peta dancing the Waltz.

• You know, Peta is just really beautiful!
• Oh, I love this song…just because of that, I love the dance.  they could fall over and I’d love it because of the song.
• But, they’re not falling over.  Donald really does have a lot of grace.
• I think Carrie Ann will be pleased with the improvement in his emotion.
• The fog might cover up a bit of the weird footwork…it looks like he might have lost his balance there a bit at the end.
• That was a  beautiful dance.
• Carrie Ann:  “It was so dreamy.”  Yes, she is happy with the emotion.  “Unfortunately there were a few times when your feet kinda just didn’t finish the step.”
• Len:  “It took me back to a different era.”  “I’m sure Peta has told you over and over to keep your head to the left.  I don’t blame you for looking at Peta.”  “Your like a big rough, tough cream puff.”
• Bruno:  “It’s much harder to impress with a Waltz…and you did just that.”  “I thought you did a fantastic job.”

Maria/Derek dancing the Argentine Tango.

• Poor Derek.  He’s just so not happy with himself.
• Oh, sexy legs behind a red curtain.  Nice.
• Derek sure does know how to choreograph.
• And Maria sure does know how to perform that choreography!
• I swear, watching these two dance the sexy, passionate dances is a little like watching an Anais Nin erotic story come to life.
• Len:  “I’m totally caught up in the whole thing.”
• Bruno: “What you’ve achieved is absolutely, utterly fabulous.”
• Carrie Ann:  “The journey and the transformation that you’ve undergone….” And then Carrie Ann had a dance orgasm and I lost track of everything she said.  But I think she liked it.

• Wow! Maria went a little nuts.  I like it!

So we finish the first round of dancing with Maria/Derek in the lead with 30; Katherine/Mark have 29; and Donald/Peta and William/Cheryl are tied with 28.  This is really close!!!

This is also the point when I forget that I’m now watching this on the DVR and have to smack myself when I realize that I’m sitting through the commercials!

• The package is about William’s life in Cuba.  He had a tough life, that’s for sure.  I really admire his fighting spirit and work ethic.  Not to mention his love for his family.
• One thing is for damn sure…this man has the Latin rhythms and can really shake his ass.  He even makes fuchsia look masculine!
• Great dance!  He’ll get high scores.
• The crowd is screaming, will we hear the judges?
• Bruno:  “…savor the flavor of sexy Brazil.”
• Carrie Ann:  “you, like, had me at hello!”  “Your bounce was like a thrust which took it to a whole different level.”
• Len:  “I’ve never looked at a man’s bum for as long in my life.  Talk about the hunk with the junk in his trunk!”
• 10 from Carrie Ann; 10 from Len; 10 from Bruno
• 10+10+10=30
• 58 total points for the night

• Oh my god!  She was cute as a 4-year-old too!
• Mark as the snake charmer and Katherine as the very sexy snake…wow, look at her move those hips!
• This salsa is looking really gook.  Great musicality.
• the Welsh Wiggler isn’t afraid to wiggle anymore!
• OH!  What happened?  Katherine looks hurt…couldn’t tell if she did something or if Mark knocked her over.
• Carrie Ann:  “We all saw that was just fantastic.”  “I loved seeing you push your boundaries.  But so bummed about the end.”
• Len:  “As you danced, Katherine, I just wrote ‘Katherine the Great’.”
• Bruno:  “What you did is unleash the harlot!”
• I’m not sure if Katherine heard a word of that..she just seems in extreme pain.

• 56 total for the night.
• Get that woman to a doctor!

Donald/Peta dancing the Samba.

• Donald also had a rough life growing up.  His family lived in a uhaul under the high way.  He was into sports, but also into drug dealing and grand theft auto.  Thank goodness for his wife who turned him around!
• yeah.  Peta is definitely hot.
• this seems like a really fun dance.  How cute that he’s shaking his hips right in front of his mom!
• Len:  “Here and there a little bit careful, but the bottom line..I liked it!”
• Bruno:  “You took a big risk and you won.”
• Carrie Ann:  “I just thought that that was A+ game.”
• 10 from Carrie Ann; 9 from Len; 10 from Bruno

• Looks like Maria’s parents taught her the value of working hard for what she achieves.
• This is just more genius Derek choreography.  It totally doesn’t look like a typical Jive, and yet it’s a jive.
• That was a great dance.  And, heaven love them, they’re both injured!
• Bruno:  “Reanimated, redefined, and reinvented.”
• Carrie Ann:  “I swear you are a winner tonight.”
• Len:  “I liked it!”
