NaBloPoMo (11/2014) – Day 18: States

I’m currently on my way home from a quickie trip to Kansas City, MO to see a friend’s presentation. I started thinking about all of the traveling I’ve done this year…more than usual.

I know a lot of people are doing these memes and quizzes online about how many states they’ve visited. So, I thought I could count up the states I’ve been in/through just this year.

July:  Drove from Chicago, IL to Portland, OR and back.

  • Illinois
  • Iowa
  • Nebraska
  • Wyoming
  • Utah
  • Idaho
  • Oregon
  • Washington (we crossed the state line a few times for meals)
  • South Dakota
  • Montana

September: Drove from Chicago, IL to Dallas, TX and back

  • Illinois
  • Missouri
  • Arkansas
  • Tennessee
  • Texas

October: Drove from Chicago, IL to Provincetown, MA and back

  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • New York
  • Connecticut
  • Massachusetts

November: Drove from Chicago, IL to Laurinurg, NC and back

  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Ohio
  • West Virginia
  • Virginia
  • North Carolina
  • Kentucky

November: Drove from Chicago, IL to Kansas City, MO and back

  • Illinois
  • Missouri
  • Kansas (crossed the state line for lunch)

That’s a lot of states this year. It comes up to 24 unique states. Nearly half of the full 50!  Whew!

I think I’m done for the year.

Unless I decide to drive a couple hours north and see what’s happening in Milwaukee, WI.

Do you agree? Disagree? Or do you just think I'm nifty? Leave a note to let me know! (Comments are being moderated - I've been getting a lot of spam. Please don't let this stop you from commenting.)
