My travels this time took me to North Carolina for a family party. My grandmother’s birthday is on Monday. Each year, the family has a fish fry to celebrate her birthday and my aunt’s birthday. This is the first I’ve been able to attend in many years. I’m looking forward to it.
On the way here, I had the pleasure of stopping in to see to friends. They were quite gracious – they made me dinner (OMG it was so good!), they let me spend the night in their house, they made me feel comfortable and welcome. Really, it was quite wonderful.
The cherry on the sundae was getting to meet their marvelous, 4-legged family members. I seemed to have met with their approval – both dogs and both cats allowed me to pet them and show them love. Yes, I wasΒ allowed to do these thing. After all, they live there…I was just a guest.
One of the furbabies is actually quite famous within certain circles. She recently lost out on a bid for Lieutenant Governor of Kansas, but I have no doubt that she will regroup and still has a bright political future ahead of her. Below is the proof of our meeting.

Her sister, not to be outdone, posed patiently while I snapped a photo of her precious self.

These two girls were so friendly and welcomed me into their home. Sure, me showing up with homemade doggy treats probably didn’t hurt, but I have a feeling they would have been kind to me anyway. Β Their moms raised them right. π
