If you’ve been keeping up at all with my Dancing With The Stars recaps, you’ve probably figured out my new obsession with all things Katherine Jenkins. Mostly, I’ve fallen completely in love with her music. I’ve worn out pretty much every youtube video I could find.
(Yes, I know it’s not really possible to wear out a youtube video…but you know what I mean.)
Of course, being the person that I am, I started looking for every CD I could find so that I could buy them and own them and listen to them and hug them and squeeze them and love them and name them George. Alas, they are very expensive in the US. 😦
But, wait! I know someone in the UK! And that someone will be coming to the US in June! And I will see that someone who is coming to the US in June! She’s my friend. She loves me. She’ll help me out, right?
Yes. Yes, she will. That Little Miss Watty Boss is truly my friend.
I began posting the CDs I wanted on her Facebook page one at a time. Jokingly, I said, “I wonder how much it would cost to just buy them all! LOL”
Being the Microsoft Excel freak that she is, Watty sent me a spreadsheet that listed each of the available CDs, the release year, the cost in the UK, the equivalent price in the US, the actual cost in the US , and the total cost for all of the CDs.

The only way it would have been more impressive is if she had color coded everything. (I probably shouldn’t give her ideas.)
I hemmed and I hawed and I thought and I thunk. I bit my lower lip in contemplation and I really, really considered getting all of them.
For about 2 seconds before I said, “Yes! Get them! Get them all!!”
Well, according to her blog post, Watty received them today. She posted a picture and everything!
As you can see, there are 8 CDs rather than the 11 listed above. The last three are compilations, so all of the songs will be on these CDs. Any that aren’t, I can purchase and download as individual songs. But…OH.MY.GOD…how excited am I about having these CDs in my hot little hands in less than two months time?
Super-dee-duper-excited! That’s how excited I am!
Somehow, I missed Katherine’s performance on Dancing With The Stars in season 12. She was one of the musical guest artists during Classical Week. I watched that season with my mom. I really don’t know how I missed it.
(Actually, it was probably because my mother tends to flip to other TV stations during the musical guests’ performances – she says she gets bored. Huh!)
Well, of course I sought out the video!
Here’s a clip with Tristan and Peta (who are now out of the troupe and into the competition as pros) dancing the Waltz to Katherine’s singing.
So there it is…my Katherine Jenkins obsession. I was counting down to the Golden Crown Literary Society Conference in Minneapolis. Now I’m counting down until I can listen to all of these CDs!
