Am I the only person who finds Emily Blunt simply stunning? It can’t possibly be just me.
Can it?
Perhaps it’s because my TV/Movie watching has had quite the fill of Emily’s work lately – My Summer of Love, Gnomeo and Juliet, The Adjustment Bureau, The Devil Wears Prada, Gulliver’s Travels, The Young Victoria…I’ve seen all of these within the last couple of months. Each is so different from the others, really.
I get this sense that the woman is fearless. It’s pretty cool.
Her performance in My Summer of Love was really quite beautiful. As I was watching it I remember thinking that Blunt really had a maturity that was beyond her years.
When I bookmark that performance with The Young Victoria, where she is able to portray the character’s growth from a young, somewhat immature woman into a formidable queen, I stand very impressed.
Blunt’s ability to thrive in various genres is a testament to her talent, I think. The movies that I’ve listed above are all very, different. From animation to comedy to drama to intrigue to period drama – this actor seems to be able to do it all.
I looked at IMDB.com earlier and it looks as though she has 3 projects due this year. I believe the one that will be releases the soonest is a romantic comedy with Jason Segel. Now that should be fun. I like Jason Segel a lot – he’s a funny guy…and he has a very charming way about him. I don’t know…he seems cuddly. I’m looking forward to seeing the two of them in this movie.

Aside from me thinking that Emily Blunt is a talented and versatile actor is the fact that the woman is just beautiful!
I mean…LOOK at her!
Let me go on record right now by saying this: I saw Blunt for the first time in The Devil Wears Prada and, while I found her to be very talented, I did not think she was that attractive.
**gasp**
I KNOW!
What’s very interesting is that I still don’t think she’s that attractive in TDWP – I don’t know if it was the hair style, the hair color, or something else. But whatever it is, she’s sort of “meh”.
In her other films, however…wow! (Okay, maybe not Gnomeo and Juliet – she was an animated red gnome, after all.)
Girlfriend can rock a 19th century dress! And did you see her in The Adjustment Bureau? I have just one word…MEOW!
So, what it all comes down to is that I’m looking forward to a lot more from Emily Blunt. A lot more.
